What to do when you are in The Waiting Period...

There are times in life when the going gets hard. When you try and try but yet nothing is happening. Times when you feel stuck. You feel you should have passed through that phase but you are not moving yet. Recently I felt like that. I wrote my last undergraduate exam August 28, 2015 and almost three months after I haven’t defended my project, just because my department is slow and annoying.  I began to feel angry at a time, because I had things lined up that I wanted to do, and had had to pass out on opportunities just because I’m technically not done with school and so cant officially relocate yet. I was mad for awhile, but then I let it go because it was no use using up my energy for something I had no power over.  Anyway a friend called me one day and in a bit to console me, was saying how he strongly feels that this is a waiting period and that I’m strongly feeling stuck for a reason. At that time I didn’t want to agree because it was just project defense (which in my mind was my department fault and nothing else).  Fast forward to five days later,

To fall in love is the greatest of all

When I’m in love with someone, the person slowly becomes the most important person in my life. It makes me ‘stupid’ because I pay attention too much; making sure that nothing I do upsets him. He smiles, I smile. He gets moody, I get moody. There are lots of people I love in my life but when I’m in love, it’s different. I love you and may not want to spend all day with you or all night talking to you. I love you but if I piss you off, I may just run away until you get over it. I love you and I may not think about you when I’m making my plans or choices. But it’s different when I’m in love because for everything I do, I think of how it affects him.

Been wanting to write something here but I start and find I'm not able to write above 400 Characters and so, I end up posting it on BBM Channel.

However, I have decided that those that haven't subscribed to my BBM channel need to see what has been on my mind.

1) Sometimes we are so desperate to succeed and become like the people we admire that we forget that Success doesn't Happen in a day. It's a journey.... it takes time (hours, days, months or years. The point is, success won't come the minute you start working towards it).

In your journey, be receptive and open minded enough to LEARN! Appreciate your little victories. Run your own race.

NOR BE MY HEAD OOO...... 'God's Grace and Guidance'

More than anything, the phrase 'Grace and Guidance' has been on my mind this year.
I was in church for crossover service when it first registered in my spirit and as I began to meditate and pray for my 2015, the Lord kept emphasizing it.

Living with the conciousness of Grace.

Do you want more and more of God’s kindness and peace? Then learn to know him better and better. For as you know him better, he will give you, through his great power, everything you need for living a truly good life: he even shares his own glory and his own goodness with us! And by that same mighty power he has given us all the other rich and wonderful blessings he promised; for instance, the promise to save us from the lust and rottenness all around us, and to give us his own character.

But to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith; you must also work hard to be good, and even that is not enough. For then you must learn to know God better and discover what he wants you to do. Next, learn to put aside your own desires so that you will become patient and godly, gladly letting God have his way with you. This will make possible the next step, which is for you to enjoy other people and to like them, and finally you will grow to love them deeply. The more you go on in this way, the more you will grow strong spiritually and become fruitful and useful to our Lord Jesus Christ. But anyone who fails to go after these additions to faith is blind indeed, or at least very short-sighted and has forgotten that God delivered him from the old life of sin so that now he can live a strong, good life for the Lord.

Don't run with speed

A few days ago, a friend brought a scripture up for us to discuss (Darlington, God bless you.) And while we were discussing it, I just knew I was going to write my thoughts on it here. For reasons unknown to me I have been postponing it (do you know I used to spell postpone as prospone? Thank God for dictionary and auto correct o), but my mind hasn't stopped brooding on it since and so, here I am, about to type away lessons learned from Heb12:1. Enjoy....

I cried on Sunday

I cried on Sunday.
I was in church and during a ministration,  I went on my knees and tears began to pour. I remember thinking after service that there's hardly anytime i go to God's presence 'with an open and expectant heart' and I don't end up crying.

When I was still an infant in a Christ, i used to cry because i felt guilty for my sins. I'd weep, apologising to God, promising not to do it again (hehehe) and then when I felt better I'd start calling him sweet names and asking him to provide and protect but these day's when i go before God, i don't cry because I feel dirty but because He loves me. I know I'm not there yet, I'm still very very imperfect but I tend to focus on His love instead of my guilt and that purifies me more than any apology. Everytime I focus on God and how much he loves me, I just don't do the things I know wouldn't please him but when I focus on my imperfections and begin to 'try' to do good, I fail.

Nothing will be impossible

I got this mail from Joel Osteen this morning and I just had to share it with you guys. ENJOY!

“...now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”(Genesis 11:6 KJV)

In the Old Testament, the people were trying to build a tower to the heavens. The scripture says, “Nothing they imagined was impossible to them.”
Their imagination was so powerful that God had to send confusion to keep them from accomplishing something for the wrong purpose.

That same principle is true today. If we can get our imagination working for the right purpose, if we will let God paint a new picture on the canvas of our heart and see ourselves as He sees us — strong, healthy, victorious — then we can rise higher and accomplish everything He’s put in our heart.

It may look impossible, but if you can imagine it, if you can see it through your eyes of faith, God is saying, “Nothing will be impossible to you.”

That means you can overcome addictions by forming a new image on the inside. You can break generational curses by creating the right pictures in your imagination. You can go further than you ever thought possible if you’ll keep the right vision in front of you!

No idea is too big.

I dont have much to write. I just want to tell you God loves you no matter what. You didnt do anyting to make God love you, you cant do anything to make him stop loving you. Just because you don't have that close consistent relationship with him doesn't stop you from being his child (Not all kids are close to their parents yet they are still their parents kids).

Don't be a stumbling block to the message you preach

"Sometimes we have to stop doing the things we love to do on a normal day. Sometimes, we have to change because we dont want our attitudes/character to be a stumbling block. It's time to mix up with 'bad' people...

"We have the tendency to want the person to be a finished product while we give ourselves the grace to evolve"

Charles was from a Christian home but he didnt know God personally. He got into the university and got into drugs, he slept with every girl he could and soon, himself and his 'gang' got into robbery. He managed to finish his education and when he did, he got into drugs and internet fraud full time. He did make a lot of money tho.

Amy was a church girl. She came from a Christian home but unlike charles, she stayed through. She was born again and  had a steady relationship with God. She went to the university and came back unchanged, still godly.
Working at her Church office, all she wanted was a man who loved God more than he loved her. Oh! Of cause, she wanted him to be cute, smart, ambitious and financially stable enough to take care of her but the major prerequisite for a relationship was the love for God.

Life happened....

Loving God

○All things work °together° for good to them that LOVE God (Rom 8:28)
○Ears have not heard, eyes have not seen, no heart has conceived what God has in store for those that LOVE Him and °work according to His purpose°. (1cor 2:9)

I wager that you noticed the similarity between the two scriptures above is 'The love of God' (Both scriptures are promises that applies to only those that Love God).

About Spiritual maturity

2Cor8:10-12 "Someone who thinks it is wrong to eat this food will see you eating at a temple restaurant, for you know there is no harm in it. Then he will become bold enough to do it too, although all the time he still feels it is wrong. So because you 'Know it is all right to do it', you will be responsible for causing a great spiritual damage to a brother with a tender conscience for whom Christ died. And it is a sin against Christ to sin against your brother by encouraging him to do something he thinks is wrong. " TLT

Over time I have come to truly understand that they are levels of Christianity; some people are baby Christians, some teen Christians while others are adult Christians and the level of our Christianity is dependent on the amount of word at work in us (not the amount scriptures you can quote or how long you can pray or the amount of bible translations you have but the level of your dependability on Christ and His word ( I mean the extent to which you have grown enough to realize that you can do absolutely nothing by yourself but that with Christ you can do exploits and His word in your life is what truly matters).
Spiritual maturity is dependent how much the word has gotten past your flesh and senses to embrace the word in your spirit and how much you obey and walk in what you learn. To grow, we have to consciously choose to die to the flesh and always obey the Lord's instruction even if it doesn't make sense.
Yes! Spiritual growth isn't about your good deeds (works) but about the level of intimacy you have with God.

Like any other kind of growth, spiritual growth is a process and so everyone of us was at one time a baby Christian (still being tossed around by the words and doctrines of men).

Are we really living as Christ disciples should live?

How would it be if the only messages preached are those centered solely on Christ?

What if pastors teach only Christ? I mean Just the Man - Jesus -, how he lived on earth, what he did on the cross, his love, the efficacy of his blood, or grace through faith in Him - Jesus.

What if we stop hearing teachings of prosperity and success? What if we all stop being Christians because of what is in Christ and instead be Christians because of who he is. I mean can we love Jesus and be his disciples because of His personality, his authenticity, His Love and what He did on the cross and not because He can heal us, provide for us, make us prosperous, or do miracles. Let's just love the Man and not the signs and works.

Whoever said Christianity is Hard lied

The beauty of a personal relationship with God is that you can fellowship with him regardless of the state you are in. That has it's root in the fact that God loves us in spite of us - our sins and flaws, not because of what we are or have or what we could become but in spite of our past, our messy dirty nature, in spite of the fact that we may never utilize the power in us, or use our potentials or fulfil destiny, in spite of our shortcomings, in spite of You - the real inner you - in spite of me.

He loves and longs for us so Come to Jesus as you are, Just as you are; with all the weight, pain, hurt, questions, flaws, faults, imperfect perfections, even if you just fornicated or had an abortion, even if you just stole, lied, cheated, or even if you just raped someone, Just Go to him and trust me on this, He'd gladly, most willing welcome you into his embrace. God needs no perfect being, he just needs one who wants to Love him.

Word for the year.

The Year has began in earnest and amid the theme's of our various churches and the Word God has given each of us personally for the year, I'm led to write down for you two of my most recent favourite scriptures.

COL2:6  

(TLT-the Living Translation) 'And as you have trusted Christ to save you, so also trust him for your everyday problems. Live in vital union with him.'

I'm more into the first part of that verse that says (in my own words) that If you can trust Christ Jesus to save you then you can also trust Him for any of your other problems.
If Christ can save you, me, us all from eternal damnation and from the hands of the devil; If He could shed his Blood for us and Freely forgive you of all your sins and continually intercede for you as he is sitting at the right hand of God and showing him his nailed hands and feet in other to remind God that he has paid fully your debt; If God could rescue the Israelites from Egypt and Part the red sea; If God can feed the birds of the air and if he can clothe the lilies of the field and make them more beautiful than even Solomon in all his glory then what problem, what challenge, what obstacle, what bondage, what storm will God not take away from you, rescue you from or grant you faith and strength and grace to handle?

PEACE of mind and heart

Being someone that easily gets depressed (a situation I get from being a melancholic - but you know I read somewhere that geniuses have the tendency to get overly depressed, hehehe! I'm just saying tho *wink*), I have learnt to appreciate the times where my heart is at rest and I have peace of mind.
Discovering the joy and warmness that is embedded in the having peace, I began to search for how I can attain a Lasting peace as I became tired of the mood swings - the joy today and  weight tomorrow; the peace today and the chaos tomorrow and as always, in the midst of my search Jehovah found me (as always. the guy is just super dope yea?) and taught me that peace of mind and heart is a necessity in the life of a believer as we cant function well or enjoy life or the Joy of our salvation if we are troubled and he said he's possible for one to have Peace 24/7, everyday of every week of every year, forever even in the midst of the worst of storms.

The lessons I have learnt on Peace is what I want to share with you on this post. So relax and enjoy the ride.

When a Son takes the place of a slave

I belong to the LA Family on twitter. It's a study group which L-Learns and A-Applies the Bible Teachings.
Today we were to study the book of Galatians, chapters 3 and 4.

One of the prominent lessons the Holy Spirit taught me today as I studied is what I want to share with you all.

Live... At The Experience 2013

... At one point during The Experience, Don Moen made us worship God in a whole new way with him playing the keyboard and later, the violin.
A couple of other artistes had performed before him. I enjoyed worshipping God with their songs but amidst the "enjoyment", I had a couple of questions niggling my head and they became stronger when Donnie McClurkin was performing...

•          What is that thing so special about our God that will make thousands of people from all works of life assemble in a historic ground simply to praise and worship Him?
• 
  
•          What is that thing so special about our God that makes knees so weak when worship that we don't know when they bow to the ground?
• 
  
•          What is that thing so special about our God that tears flows when true worship is going on?

Where Does a Good Fruit come from?

A Tree is identified by the Fruits it Produces. A good tree would produce good fruits and so a bad tree would produce bad fruits.
The kind of Tree depends on how and where it is rooted.
Where are you Planted? How rooted are you?

The only way to become a good tree is to be planted in Christ, deeply rooted in Christ.
You become planted in Christ by BELIEVING In Him, but the depth of your roots depends on Your Faith and the only way to Build your Faith Is to Know God and the only way to know God is To via STUDYING HIS WORD AND PRAYING.
The more You Study and Pray, the better you know Him, the more you grow in Love (For God, For yourself, For the whole of Humanity), the stronger your Faith becomes and the easier it becomes to Obey God. When you obey God and live right you'd produce good fruits.
