When a Son takes the place of a slave

I belong to the LA Family on twitter. It's a study group which L-Learns and A-Applies the Bible Teachings.
Today we were to study the book of Galatians, chapters 3 and 4.
One of the prominent lessons the Holy Spirit taught me today as I studied is what I want to share with you all.
Be Blessed.

Gal 4:1 " Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all" KJV
"...If a Father dies and leaves great wealth for his little son, that child is not much better off than a slave until he grows up, even though he actually owns everything his father had" TLT (the living translation)

This passage is basically self explanatory yea?
It clearly say's that until a Child who inherited all of his father's property is of age, he is just as good as a slave. Until a child Grows up and is mature enough to understand his worth and 'ACCEPT' It, he would live as a slave.
When the child grows up and is enlightened about his worth, he could choose not to accept his Father's gift but to make his own riches by himself on his own terms and when this happens he is still just as good as a slave until he can prove himself and become Rich all by himself.

This illustration applies totally to the Kingdom of God.

God, the Father became Flesh as in Jesus and died on the cross, took away our sins and en-graced us with all he had. All that is the Father's belongs to Jesus and when Jesus died, all that he had became ours but we cannot live as Sons who has inherited everything the Father has until we ACCEPT the Father's gift and become MATURE enough to adequately and effectively utilize it.

Notice that there are two key words used in the sentence :- ACCEPT and MATURE.
So, let's break them down and expatiate on them for better clarification.

1) ACCEPTANCE: Until You accept a Gift, you really don't own it and as such you just as good as a slave who has no inheritance whatsoever.
In the Kingdom of God, The Gift is Salvation and You can't get the Gift without Accepting Jesus and you can't accept Jesus if you don't Believe in Him and in the work of the cross.
When we get saved (accept the gift), all that Jesus own's becomes ours LEGITIMATELY and we become legit SONS OF GOD.
Thus, though Jesus died for the whole world and as such the whole world is/can be an heir to The Father's Riches not everyone gets to have their name stamped on God's will because they haven't accepted his Son. Therefore, unbelievers can be Son's of God and have access to God's riches and abundance if they would Accept His Son but until they do, they are just as good as slaves. They are Children who could have become legitimate heirs to the 'Throne' but are not because they have refused to Believe and Accept the Gift of salvation.

So, If you are reading this and you have not yet believed and accepted Jesus, I urge to please take a moment to SINCERELY Tell Jesus that you love him and you are thankful for his death on the cross for you and that you have accepted him to be Your Lord and Saviour. And if you have accepted Christ, REJOICE because you have become a joint-heir with Christ and hence, the Father's riches are yours and a glorious inheritance awaits you.

2) MATURITY: Some Parents would put a time bound on when the Child can claim and begin to utilize his inheritance, it could be till s/he is 18, 21 or 25years old. I believe the parent believes that it is at that age that the child would be Mature enough to rightly use his asset.
So even if he is told at age 16 that he is an heir and is told how much he is worth or how much his inheritance is worth and he Accept's His father gift, until he grows up and is of age (has matured enough) he won't be given access to his asset.
Same applies to the Kingdom Of God.
God wants us to Grow, to be grounded in His Word, to be mature and strong enough to withstand and win the battle with satan and strongholds.
In my walk with God I have discovered that Daddy takes it one step at a time, He deals with our issues one by one and he waits till we are prepared before he gives us anything (that's why we don't always get what we ask for immediately. He waits until we are equipped enough before he gives us say twice of what we had before because he know's that if we are not strong and mature and grounded enough, the devil would use his blessing against us and we would ultimately suffer).
So the more we grow with/in God, the more of our inheritance will he reveal to us. The more grounded in his word we become, the more he'd reveal Himself and His plans for us to us. The more stable we become in Christ, the easier it becomes to win over satan and strongholds and the More Victorious we become through Christ.
The way a baby Christian perceives things are different from the way a mature Christian does, the amount of God in a person is dependent on his Maturity which is dependent on how much of the Word is in him and how much time s/he dedicates to Prayer.
If you want the fullness of God and the riches of your inheritance in Christ then GET GROWING.

So until you accept the gift of salvation you are not a Legit Heir and a True Son and Until You Grow up, you can't access the fullness of your inheritance in Christ. #la130

Much love.

  1. Thanks so much Peace for this lovely post.

A Son who does not know who he is has no more power than a slave. Jesus died to make me a son, but it is up to me to realise it, accept the gift and embrace the newness it brings. I must grow and become of age to become a beneficiary of my Father's inheritance.
May God give us the grace to mature into 'sons' that inherit the promise. Bless your heart.

Your summary is just IT, nothing has to be added to it. God surely will endow us with all the Grace we need to Mature into Sons, I just pray that we be ready and willing to work in that Grace.

    Bless you too.
