I was sad I had no shoes until I saw a man with no legs.
Like play like play, December will soon reach. Like say na joke, Christmas is one month away, 2015 is around the corner. Whilst trying to meet my checklist for 2014 ASAP so I can actually have a playful, work free Christmas, I'm reminded of those who don't have the opportunities I have, who can't flex and have fun like I can.
Its 1am and I'm thinking of those families who may not be able to cook Christmas rice, those kids who don't know what it feels like to have christmas dress and I'm thankful for how God has blessed me.

A lot of times, we take those little things like water, air, food, and shelter for granted. We are so used to having them around that we forget these are the basic necessities that make life worth living.
I remember been close to dehydration at a point on friday and immediately I got a sachet of water, I unconsciously let out a deep sigh that was followed by 'Lord thank you for water'
. It was just a relief that I couldn't stop thanking God and that was how I and my friend used the next couple of minutes in counting some of those little things we take for granted like water, air (do you know how many people are paying for oxygen in the hospital?), clothes (imagine been naked, come rain, come sun), the ability to defecate and urinate (do you know some people cant?), the ability to eat without pipes connected to your bloodstream, the ability to dream (so many people have given up on life, they don't bother hoping anymore), the ability to look forward to Christmas with a smile (there are people who can't celebrate Christmas or they would be executed, there are people who don't look forward to Christmas because they have nothing to celebrate it with) and yet you aren't in any of those cases. Aren't you thankful?

With these thoughts still on your mind: I present to you CHRISTMAS AT THE DOOR (CAD).
CAD is an opportunity, a privilege to share the little you have with those who you have more than. CAD is an opportunity to make someone around you smile in December.
CAD is about reaching out this christmas to the needy, prisons, orphanages, it might even be an old person in ur neighborhood.
CAD is sharing, its loving, its making someone smile.
So this December, this Christmas, go to prisons, orphanages, slums, old peoples home, visit that lonely old lady close to your house. Reach out and share whatever you have. Nothing is to small, nothing is too big.
You can go alone or you can go with friends. Do it at any place of your choice and on any date.
All we ask of you is take love - the spirit of Christmas to someone as much as your heart and pocket can handle and when you go out, take pictures and share with us at https://www.Facebook.com/pages/christmas-At-The-Door/3163471485651838

Allow me reiterate: Go alone or with friends (make sure you tell someone about it). Go to any place - prisons, orphanages, hospitals, old people's home, a less privileged neighbour, slums, etc. Go anytime, pick your own date between Dec 2014 and Jan 2015. Take anything that would make them smile even if its just your love and prayers or bags of rice and drinks. Take pictures of your outing (s) - yes u can go more than once. Share pictures to our Christmas at the door facebook page ---> https://www.Facebook.com/pages/christmas-At-The-Door/316347148565183. Tell someone about it. Lets make this go viral. Lets take Christmas to the needy.
Bloggers, please reblog.
Much love!
My Blog mother Janylbenylshares.com always says that a heart of gratitude opens doors of opporfunities. You see pastor partner in crime, i am learning that one of the only good things we can do in this life is sincerely give, cause that comes with love, and love surpasses all human understanding... i think the CAD initiative is a wonderful idea. Kudos. nice one Bubba, i love and admire the way that your small head works sometimes....
