Do you remember what life was likefore Google Maps and smartphones?
Think back to when you were travelling to a destination you had never been before. You would've had some directions prior to setting out. However, 7 times out of 10 you'd still stop a complete stranger and ask for directions just to make sure your on the right path or because the directions and your current location weren't quite matching up. Most of the people you stopped and asked for directions probably hadn't even been to your destination but they were familiar with the area making it possible to give enough guidance to at least get you to the next checkpoint.
Life's journey isn't much different. We're all heading to some destination of our choosing, and for most of us every step is unfamiliar territory. I believe that success is easier when you know where you're going. This doesn't imply that you know the exact route to get there but it does mean that you have clarity about where you're going and possibly an idea on how to get going. Having a definite goal or purpose in life makes it a lot easier to ask for directions.
Many of us tend to discard whether the person standing next to us has knowledge about how to move forward and instead continue along the lonely path in the hope that we will meet the person that has been exactly where we want to go. In my experience that person is hard to come by so it's best ask more people who are going your way about the next step, as they probably have some knowledge that can assist you on your journey.
Conversations with the most unexpected people will often spark ideas and solutions to your current problems. So if you ever find yourself slightly lost or stuck in unfamiliar territory don't be afraid to ask someone for directions. I'm always willing to lend a helping hand whenever I can and I know there are many others willing to do the same.
It's not a weakness to ask for help or assistance. The ability to humble yourself and seek help/assistance, or ask for direction or toturial is actually a strength and it will propel you further.
When you are at a crossroad, ask for direction. Remember God sends men to help us a lot. So let's receive them.
And when someone asks for your help or you just know someone needs assistance, don't hesitate to lend an helping hand. It has been said that "A giving hand never lacks"

ReplyDeleteI agree with you. The post are really inspirational. Keep it up girl!
DeleteTrue that Partner in crime, and thats why I have asked for your help, and hand in marriage, and I am grateful you have given it to me :) :) :).. **Winks. On a serious note Bubba, EVERYBODY NEEDS SOMEBODY. And like you said we all first have to have the destination at heart before we actually commence the journey. E.g, i have the best Blog Mother in the world, and she inspires me a lot + scolds me alot too, and I love her big time for both. I just believe that we all need somebody to look up to when we fall, when we are sad, and when we feel alone, cause if someone can give us a reason to always look up, then we can always get up and keep up regardless how BIG our dreams seem.
ReplyDeleteNice Post Bubba, my! you never fail to inspire us your disciples. Cheers Peace. xx
